Plans in for strategic office scheme near East Midlands Airport

December 2018

Plans for a Grade A office development on a prominent, well-connected site close to East Midlands airport have been submitted to North West Leicestershire District Council.

A joint venture between Moto Hospitality and Derbyshire based Litton Property Group, has lodged a planning application to develop three state-of-the-art HQ buildings providing a total of 65,000sq.ft new office floorspace.

The proposed three-storey buildings will be visually striking with sloping facades to the M1 and brightly-coloured cladding referencing classic car colours and the motoring heritage of the area.

The development site, to be known as EM Point, is the latest proposal within the East Midlands Enterprise Gateway area, described as a transport “sweet spot” due to its strategic location and connections.

Mark Twelves of Litton said: “We see huge potential for this site. The frontages to both the A453 and the M1 provide a unique site capable of delivering inward investment from companies seeking high profile HQ accommodation.” “It’s in close proximity to East Midlands Airport and connectivity to the M1/M50 road network.”

Nick Hosking, Director at Innes England said: “EM Point will be a landmark scheme in a strategic location with unrivalled prominence. The site benefits from the major improvements to the A453 and the M1 and the three proposed HQ office buildings are expected to attract strong competitive interest from high quality regional and national operators. As you would expect we’re already in dialogue with a number of parties”
