Litton Property Group completed a 27,922 sq.ft. GIA (F20 sales) Tesco eco food store on the site of the former Market Street School.
This £10m development in 2014 saw the transformation of this gateway site into a key amenity for the local community and helped retain retail spend within the town. The development created approximately 230 full and part time jobs.
The store was pre-let to Tesco on a 25 year lease. The buyer was Akzo Nobel Pension Fund, managed by CBRE Global Investors and advised by Leeds based Steadman Brierley. Knight Frank acted for Litton Property Group and CBRE Global Investors acted for the buyer.
