Phase 8, Employment space at Riverside Works - Bakewell

Phase 8 of the Riverside Works development commenced in early March 2024, with ground preparation carried out by subcontractors Van Elle, who drilled approximately 900 piles for the four new employment buildings.

Pre-let agreements were secured with Huber UK Temperature Control, as well as two local food sector occupiers - Holdsworth Chocolates and Bloomers Bakery. This new space has allowed for the expansion of their operations. Additional lettings include Taylor & Emmett Solicitors, R Stone Joinery, and other interested parties. There has also been strong interest in the remaining available space.

The £3.4 million construction contract was completed in December 2024, with the units now handed over to the occupiers for their fit-out works.

In October 2024, the first building was completed and handed over to Huber UK Temperature Control, providing them with a turn-key solution for modern headquarters, designed to facilitate growth, innovation, and enhanced capabilities.

The main contract for this project was managed by Litton Construction, with the professional team consisting of The Harris Partnership (Architects), Eastwood Civil and Structural Engineers, and Castle Owen (Employers Agent). Development finance was provided by Handelsbanken, Sheffield.

Phase 8 marks the completion of the ‘Western Area’ of the site, facing the adjoining Aldi store, and represents a significant milestone in progressing the project towards its final completion.
