Next phase at Riverside Works begins

July 2023

Litton are delighted to confirm that the next phase of redevelopment at Riverside Works has commenced, and the steel frame is being erected for a further 15,000 sq.ft. building.

This phase is being built on behalf of current occupier Thornbridge Brewery. The new building will consolidate Thornbridge’s presence out of some remaining older space – which is earmarked for future demolition – into a new purpose built building which will accommodate a newly equipped cold store and warehouse and distribution hub as well as a new head office suite.

The £1.25 Million construction package is being delivered in house with development funding provided by Handelsbanken.

Architects are Harris Partnership, Engineers are Eastwood & Partners and the Employers Agent is Castle Owen.

James Payne, Development Director of Litton Properties says “We are thrilled that the pace of development and occupational interest at Riverside Works continues unabated. This building will further strengthen our ties with Thornbridge Brewery and reinforces our commitment to deliver best in class employment space across our portfolio.”

A spokesman for Thornbridge Brewery states " We have long supported the development of Riverside as the most important business space in the Peak and are delighted to be moving into new, purpose-built space to replace our old premises. The new bridge is in place and we have new, exciting neighbours moving on site.

We will be a better, more efficient operation with our logistics and office moving right beside the Brewery & Taproom, helping us to focus on continuing to make World Class Beers in the heart of the Peak District."
