Litton commence next phase at Riverside Works

Phase 8 comprises the delivery of four high quality employment buildings providing approx. 45,000 sq.ft. GIA.

Four pre-let agreements have been agreed to three different companies, including Huber UK Temperature Control and two occupiers in the food sector who have been seeking space to expand their operations. There is further interest in the remaining space available.

The £3.4 million construction contract is due to run until December 2024 and the four buildings will be finished in phases. The programme plans to have Huber in occupation of Building I by the end of September 2024.

Ground improvement works are now on site and packages have now also been placed for foundations, flooring, steel frame and cladding.

The main contract is being undertaken by Litton Construction. The professional team consists of Architects The Harris Partnership, Eastwood Civil and Structural Engineers and Castle Owen are acting as Employers Agent. Development finance has been provided by Handelsbanken, Sheffield.

This will see completion of the ‘Western Area’ of the site which faces the adjoining Aldi store and makes significant progress in bringing the project forward to final completion.

The current relocation of Thornbridge into the now completed phase 7 ‘Jaipur Building’ will also now allow for demolition in due course of further legacy buildings This will also greatly improve the site and open up final areas for the further consented employment space.
