The planned Premier Inn hotel at Riverside has, for the time being at least, been “mothballed”. This is because of the current economic climate caused by the pandemic lockdown and due to delays releasing the planning condition related to archaeology where discussions with the Peak District National Park Planning Authority remain ongoing. This is regrettable and we can currently offer no certainty on the future plans of Premier Inn.
In view of the grant, focus is now on developing growth of the bridge and employment space. 11,000 sq.ft.
